Capitol Hill Update: No General Casey, 12 of Your Dead Soldiers Trumps "Diversity"

Unfortunately, in recent decades, many of the Army officers promoted to the top general ranks have been politically-correct bureaucrats dedicated more to "diversity" and other politically-correct clap trap rather than being dedicated to the military personnel they command.  If any more proof is required, the remarks by the Army's top general, Chief of Staff George Casey, following the Islamic terrorist's slaughter of 13 innocent human beings at Ft. Hood last week is all the proof that is needed.

General Casey said on NBC's "Meet the Press" last Sunday  --  after 12 of his soldiers and an Army civilian were slaughtered by Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a devout Muslim, along with another 30 or so wounded, with 8 still in intensive care  --  "Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse."

No General, losing 12 of your Army soldiers and an Army civilian is far far worse than you keeping your politically-correct schemes, including your perverse ideas of "diversity".  It is outrageous that you think "diversity" is more important than the soldiers brutally assassinated and wounded by this Islamic terrorist and more important than the families and friends of the murdered victims left behind.

General Casey also said on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday   "I'm concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I've asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that."

No General, you need to get your troops reporting on their fellow soldiers who are acting like fanatical jihadists. If you had done this, these lives would probably not have been wasted.  And your chain of command needs to act to rid the Army of such terrorists and terrorist-wannabes.  This is just plain commonsense understood by the American people.

It was reported that Major Hasan gave a lecture to some military doctors at Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland and he tutored Muslims on how to get out of military so they don't have to kill fellow Muslims or words to that effect.  This mass murderer Army officer also said that the American military was engaged in military battles against Muslim countries which make it very uncomfortable for Muslim soldiers in the American military.

As Greta Van Susterin said on her Fox News show last night, it is startling that noone in the Army, before this massacre at Fort Hood, stepped forward and said "This is one strange situation" regarding Major Hasan's  radical words and actions.  Apparently, these facts about Major Hasan's radicalism never went to the highest levels of the Army and that is abominable.  And if they did, that is even worse.   A reporter on Van Susterin's show last night said it has been reported that Major Hasan also wasn't responding to his patients' needs and taking notes; his patients were mostly soldiers who were about to go to Iraq or Afghanistan and he was brainwashing them.

On this Veterans Day 2009, it would behoove the commander-in-chief and his defense secretary to immediately get rid of the politically-correct schemes which have been infesting the United States military for the past number of decades and to get in sync with the American people and protect the troops under their care.  To do nothing less is unforgivable.
