What Do You Think?
What Do You Think? - AMERICA'S TALKING: Did John McCain make the right choice for his running mate? [Fox News]
Governor Palin HAS EXPERIENCE. In the time that she has been in office as governor, she has several accomplishments that should be emphasized. The passage of legislation addressing corruption; providing citizens of the State tax rebates and another accomplishment that does not come to mind. Regardless of how few accomplishments she has had, she has made them as the Chief Executive Officer of a state. The emphasis should not be made about the quantity of accomplishments, but, the QUALITY of them and the positive impact they have had. Governor Palin has demonstrated that she knows how to govern, make decisions as an executive, which she is, and get THINGS DONE. Her character and integrity are attributes that bring a breath of fresh air to the campaign. Because she is not a politician, in my opinion is a plus. She operates from a deep abiding conviction in being a servant and SERVING.

If you say that Sarah Palin
If you say that Sarah Palin should not hold office of vice-president due to the fact that she has a special needs infant, how do you justify the alternative candidate on the Democrat bottom of the ticket being a Senator that had just lost his wife and daughter in a traffic accident and had two sons in critical care, needing constant attention, yet still chose to head to Washington just a matter of weeks later to begin his duties as a newly elected United States Senator?
With that said, from what I can tell, Biden has seemingly done a fine job both raising those two sons following that situation and maintaining his duties of elected office.
I'd even offer that the daily duties of a vice-president are not as pressing as that of a U.S. Senator or the chief executive of the state of Alaska. I may be wrong, but these are the kinds of questions to weigh with ourselves. If we wanted cut and dry choices all the time or even NO choices, we wouldn't have a democracy, I guess! :)
You got it right, Rick (pun
You got it right, Rick (pun intended)....Most conservative Christians are not so backward as to think women should never work outside the home, but for her to take on the job of running for the SECOND HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE WORLD, that requires extensive travel and 24/7 availability with a new special needs baby and another baby coming into the family is just crazy. I don't know any woman that would do this, or at least any woman who puts FAMILY before PERSONAL AMBITIONS. (Gives new meaning to the phrase being thrown around this week "Country First"...hmmmmm...I'd say "Family First")
When her kids are older I say GO FOR IT LADY...But for her to take on this when her family is having a couple of significant crises shows how detached she is from the reality of all this. I stayed up until 11:30 the other night with a crying 11 year who was anxious and worried about the first day of school. He went to bed at 9:00 and then came in and woke me up. I listened as he poured his heart out about his worries, fears and problems. Will she have time to do stuff like that??? NO WAY.
My son had a great first day at school, by the way, but he is confident because he KNOWS I CAN BE THERE FOR HIM.....
Not only does she not have time for this job given other commitments, why would she subject her poor daughter to this kind of invasion of privacy? I feel very sorry for that poor girl.
And if McCain should die (he is 72 and has had four recurrences of his cancer)...would she have ANY TIME for her family??
Governor Palin is *not* the
Governor Palin is *not* the right choice ... yes, indeed we need to protect our unborn; however, we as good people in Jesus Christ, *must* take the God giving responsiblility of being a good parent! ... How can we justify her flaunting her pregnant teenage daughter ... I have two girls of my own and I have to deal with this day to day with Britney, Paris, and the like of these immoral young women; and my only justification is that they are products of bad parenting ... and in the media... but how do I justify this bad parenting from the Vice President of the United States? ... It is against what we believe in and is just downright weaking the family situation, not to mention that she had a Down Syndrome child and went bact to work in three-days.... please, don't get me wrong.. I think it's fine that women take their rightful place in the workforce .. .but don't drop your babies like puppies? .... This is the GOPs pandering to us once again! ... Rick
I agree that women's
I agree that women's rightful place is in the home, workplace or wherever they decide, however, I believe the most important job is that of Mother, especially when young children are involved. I would love to see her in ten years however when her family is on sounder footing and she has more political experience.
