Christian Coalition of America to Score "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011" in Senate on Friday

Grassroots organizations around the United States, including Christian Coalition of America, won a huge victory in the United States House of Representatives on Tuesday night when it passed the "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011" by an overwhelmingly majority of 234-190.  It also was an astounding victory for the nearly 180-member conservative House Republican Study Committee, chaired by Congressman Jim Jordan, R-OH.  Finally, it was a tremendous victory for the bill's author, Jason Chaffetz, R-UT and the chief co-sponsor, Congressman Mark Mulvaney (R-SC.)

Here are the results of Tuesday night's vote:

  • 229-9 Republicans
  • 5-181 Democrats
  • Democrats yeas: Boren, Cooper, Matheson, McIntyre, Shuler
  • Republican nays: Bachmann, Broun, Canseco, DesJarlais, Griffith, Jones, Mack, Paul, Rohrabacher

Christian Coalition of America has now turned its effort to ensuring that the expected Democrat filibuster of Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee's bill, the "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011", S.1340, is not successful.  Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), considered the senior Tea Party Senate hero, played a key role in the formation of this bipartisan commonsense legislation.

It is extremely important that all Americans call both of their United States Senators  --  Contact your U.S. Senators of the 112th Congress   --  and demand that they vote for Senator Lee's "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011," S.1340.

Just as the most infamous piece of legislation  --  probably in American history  --  the socialized, pro-abortion and tax-increasing medical scheme known as ObamaCare  --  which will surely bankrupt America  --  was THE issue of the 111th Congress, the vote this Friday in the United States Senate is THE most important vote of the 112th Congress and it will be a make-or-break vote on whether the Reagan Revolution is dead.

President Ronald Reagan's economic policies produced a 25-year economic boom in America.  It is imperative that the United States Senate send this "moderate" common sense cut, cap, and balance bill to the floor which the credit rating agencies say will solve Barack Obama's debt ceiling crisis.

If the Senate Democrats  --  about 20 of them up for reelection next year, many in conservative states  --  refuse to vote for Senator Lee's "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011," S.1340, they will signal to the American people that they just do not care about the crushing debt they are creating for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Incidentally, the Senate Democrats and Obama do not have any legislation of their own.  Indeed, the Democrats in the Senate have not produced a budget for over 800 days, over a span of two Congresses.

A vote FOR Senator Mike Lee's "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011," S.1340 will be scored as a POSITIVE vote in the 2011 Christian Coalition of America Congressional Scorecard.

Directly below is Senator Mike Lee's press release from Wednesday regarding his "Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011," S.1340, which Senator Lee will attempt to get a vote  --  and break the Democrats' filibuster of the bill  --  on the floor of the Senate on Friday.

Lee: Cut, Cap, and Balance is Plan A, B, and C

WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Lee released the following statement as a strong endorsement of the recently passed “Cut, Cap, and Balance” Act in the House of Representatives:

“Cut, Cap, and Balance is Plan A, B, and C because it is the only plan that will, a, protect the U.S. triple-A bond rating, b, balance the budget, and, c, raise the debt ceiling with Republican support,” said Senator Lee.

“Senate Democrats should stop wasting time we don’t have fiddling with plans that won’t work.  The House did the right thing.  Now it’s time for Senate Democrats and the President to do their part and pass the ‘Cut, Cap, and Balance Act’.”
