President Obama is coming under fire for funnelling more than $400,000 to Planned Parenthood in North Carolina.

The president has been an outspoken supporter for the nation's biggest abortion provider. But political observers say what makes this situation different is that he's intentionally trying to undermine a state legislature.

On July 3, the North Carolina legislature passed a budget adjustment bill redirecting $343,000 in family planning funding from Planned Parenthood.

In response, the Obama adminstration decided to give $426,000 in federal grants directly to Planned Parenthood affiliates in that state.

It''s not the first time the administration has done that.

"President Obama's decision to overrule the North Carolina legislature today marks the third time this month - and the fifth time in the last year - that he has stepped in to contract directly with the nation's largest abortion provider," Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement.
