California Citizens Gather 1.1 Million Signatures (400,000 more than needed) to put Constitutional Marriage Amendment Banning Homosexual "Marriages" on November Ballot

Today's article in "The Washington Times," (April 25, 2008) reported that California citizens have raised more than 1.1 million signatures, 400,000 more than required, to put a constitutional amendment to ban homosexual "marriages" on the November ballot. It is widely expected to pass as 27 similar state constitutional amendments banning homosexual "marriage" have passed by an overwhelming average approval rate of 70%. Florida and Arizona voters will also likely have an opportunity to vote on constitutional amendments banning homosexual "marriages."

That will bring the total number of states upholding traditional marriages between one man and one woman to 30. More states are expected to pass such amendments during the next few years. California's ballot measure will add to the constitution 14 words: "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

Once the voters in California pass the marriage constitutional amendment, liberal California state legislators and judges will no longer be able to approve legislation mandating homosexual "marriages." The governor of California has already vetoed two homosexual "marriage" bills, thus preventing the abomination which 4 radical judicial tyrants -- led by Margaret Marshall, the judge who was actually born in South Africa -- mandated for the state of Massachusetts several years ago.

Planned Parenthood Called "Racist" By Black Pastors at Washington D.C. Demonstration at Planned Parenthood Abortion Chamber Yesterday

Yesterday, at a Planned Parenthood abortion chamber in Washington D.C., black pastors -- and others in a demonstration -- called Planned Parenthood a racist group, dating back to the founding of the group by racist Margaret Sanger in the early 1900's.

Indeed, in a December 19, 1939 letter, Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger said, "We don't want word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population." Recently, students from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA,) posed as prospective donors to an Ohio Planned Parenthood abortuary saying they wanted their money to go to aborting black babies "because there's definitely too many black people in Ohio." The unidentified Planned Parenthood worker responded in a taped audio conversation, "Well, for whatever reason, we'll accept the money." Other Planned Parenthood facility workers around the United States accepted the same offer from these pretend-racist donors.

The black pastors demonstrating yesterday in Washington D.C. called for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood from receiving $336.7 million annually in government funds. Congressman Trent Franks, R-AZ, said at the demonstration that he will introduce legislation making it illegal to abort on the basis of sex or race. He was quoted in "The Washington Times," that "If the Democrats can't vote for that, then they can't vote for anything." Congressman Mike Pence, R-IN, has a related bill called the "Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act" to defund Planned Parenthood.

Christian Coalition of America's Michele Combs Testifies at Senate Commerce Committee Hearing Advocating Net Neutrality on the Internet to Prevent Discrimination Against Groups such as Christian Coalition

On Tuesday, Christian Coalition of America's Michele Combs testified before the Senate Commerce Committee regarding Christian Coalition's support for net neutrality on the Internet.

"Consumer Affairs" said in their article on Wednesday: "Combs testified that the Christian Coalition had joined the "Save The Internet" coalition to preserve net neutrality because 'we believe that organizations such as the Christian Coalition should be able to continue to use the Internet to communicate with our members and with a worldwide audience without a phone or cable company snooping in on our communications and deciding whether to allow a particular communication to proceed, slow it down, block it, or offer to speed it up if the author pays extra to be on the 'fast lane'.'

"Combs said that the Internet pornography industry would pay premium rates to prosper even with networks blocking access to certain types of content, and that if cable companies freed up video-on-demand pornography channels to use for more Internet bandwith, they would not have to shape traffic and block users from downloading and uploading content as they pleased. 'Let's remember, it was the transmitting of the King James Bible that Comcast blocked, which caused the current controversy," Combs said. "It was not as if the company was trying to protect consumers from inappropriate content.'"

Last week, Michele Combs testified at the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) summit at Stanford University in Berkeley, California, regarding Christian Coalition's support of "net neutrality." She also testified before the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee earlier this year in support of the net neutrality legislation introduced by Republican Congressman Charles "Chip" Pickering (MS) and Democrat Congressman Edward Markey (MA) called the "Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2008," H.R. 5353.

Christian Coalition generally supports a laissez faire policy by government, but in this case, broadband firms are engaging in the same kind of censorship as the Chinese government. Christian Coalition is worried about the cables and Bells being discriminatory regarding content on the Internet.

Yesterday was 2-Year Anniversary of Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Promise that "Democrats have a Commonsense Plan to Help Bring Down Skyrocketing Gas Prices"/Since Democrats Took Over Control of Congress, Gas Prices Have INCREASED $1.20 Per Gallon

Yesterday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) asked "What is the Democrats' 'commonsense plan' to lower gas prices? And what is taking them so long to unveil it? The American people are waiting -- and paying more at the pump each day they wait."

Thursday was the 2-year anniversary of the promise by the new Democrat Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, promising that if given control of the Congress, the "Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices." However, instead of bringing them down, since the Democrats took over Congress last year, there has been an incredible INCREASE in gasoline prices: an increase of $1.20 per gallon, from $2.33 per gallon to $3.53 per gallon.

The average family would have spent $2,671 per year on gas at $2.33 per gallon last year. Today, that same family spends nearly $4,063 per year on gas at $3.53 per gallon! That is an increase of nearly $1,400 for a family's budget.

Senator Kit Bond, R-MO said yesterday: "The people who made the promises failed to bring the change that they promised. I'm referring to April 24 (2006) when Nancy Pelosi announced that ‘Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices.’ She told the American people that if they put Democrats in charge of the House and Senate, we would all see lower gas prices."

Senator John Cornyn, R-TX said on the Senate floor yesterday: "I, too, think it's important to remember that since Speaker Pelosi made that promise two years ago, we have not had anything happen in the United States Congress that would indicate that this commonsense plan to help bring skyrocketing gas prices down is any closer today than it was two years ago. So while the majority, which really runs the United States Congress, is quick to blame others for high oil prices, it is in fact their inaction that continues to raise gas prices...."

All 9 Republican Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Urging Democrat Leaders including Committee Chairman Pat Leahy to Implement their Agreement with Republican Leader Mitch McConnell to Confirm 3 Circuit Court Nominees by Memorial Day

This week, all nine members of the Senate Judiciary Committee demanded that the Democrat leaders, including the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy, D-VT, fulfill their promise to the Republican Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell, KY, to confirm three of President Bush's nominess to the United States Circuit Court of Appeals by Memorial Day.

The Republican Senators are concerned that the Democrats will confirm only liberal judicial nominee, Helene White, a relative of Senator Carl Levin, D-MI, heavily involved in filibuster of 4 nominees since 2003 to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and others like her, and not confirm conservative nominees such as Peter Keisler to the D.C. Circuit, and Robert Conrad and Steve Matthews to the 4th Circuit. Helene White originally was nominated by Bill Clinton in 1997, but was not confirmed, and now in a deal with the Democrats, she has been renominated by President George W. Bush.

These 9 Republican Senators in their letter to Chairman Leahy say: "[W]e believe, that as a matter of fairness, those promised three should include Judge Conrad, Mr. Matthews, and Mr. Keisler. Failing to include those three is unfair both to these nominees, who have been pending in Committee for over 270, 220, and 660 days respectively, but also to the litigants in the Fourth Circuit who are shackled with an appellate court that is one-third vacant.

"Further, we are concerned that more than a week after the Majority Leader’s commitment, a hearing for only one circuit nominee, Justice Steven Agee of Virginia, has been scheduled. … ‘Doing everything [you] can’ surely means holding a hearing for Judge Conrad and Mr. Matthews, and in Mr. Keisler’s case, a Committee vote."

The "Wall Street Journal" said on Wednesday in their editorial regarding the unforgivable Democrat filibuster of President Bush's judges (only 7 have been confirmed so far, compared with 15 of Bill Clinton's nominees confirmed by a Republican Senate in his last two years): "GOP Senators need to use their minority rights now to insist that Democrats honor their pledge by confirming three bona fide Bush nominees. Democrats are hoping to run out the clock on the Bush Presidency, and the GOP should use the leverage it has while Mr. Reid still wants to get things done. Republicans need to make judges an issue so voters understand that the stakes on the federal appellate courts, including the Supreme Court, couldn't be higher in 2008."

Senator Sam Brownback Testifies Before House Committee on the Importance of Funding for Abstinence Funding - Witness Panel "heavily stacked with witnesses who are known to be hostile to abstinence education"

On Wednesday, Senator Sam Brownback, R-KS, testified before the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, chaired by Congressman Henry Waxman, D-CA about the need for continued funding for abstinence education. Most of the witnesses were for getting rid of abstinence education funding, but Senator Brownback more than held his own, with help of Republican House Members who supported his arguments.

Senator Brownback said during his testimony: "Studies have shown that abstinence education is effective in decreasing the number of teen pregnancy and rates of sexually transmitted diseases among youth. Clearly our current approach to sex education is not working; STD rates among teens are rising, and it is irresponsible of us to silence the abstinence message. We need more funding for abstinence programs, not less. Cutting funding to such valuable programs will only have negative results as we see teens, and even pre-teens, engage in risky sexual behavior."

Senator Brownback continued, "Parents want the best for their children, and have high expectations and goals for their futures. It is ironic that most of my colleagues agree that abstinence education is preferred but are not willing to fund such programs at the same level as ‘comprehensive’ sex education, the funding of which is weaved throughout our federal budget. We, as legislators, should not undermine parents’ ambition to raise responsible, healthy children."

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) asked the witnesses who were described as health experts whether or not they would support abstinence education and three out of four of them who testified against abstinence education said they would oppose it even if scientific evaluation proved abstinence education was equal to or more effective than "comprehensive" sex education.

One of the Democrats' witnesses, a Max Siegel said that he got AIDS from his very first sexual experience. The "Washington Times" reported yesterday that Mr. Siegel said of his older male partner, "I took out a condom, but he ignored it." "I knew enough to suggest a condom," Mr. Siegel said, but because abstinence education didn't address the issue, "I had no idea how to discuss condoms with my partner." And this was the typical testimony from the anti-abstinence education witnesses put up by the Democrats.

High School Football Coach Continues to Fight for His Right for Silent Prayer in the state of New Jersey - Judicial Dictators on 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Ruled That the Coach Marcus Borden May not Participate in his Team's Prayers in Any Way

Last week, a radical majority of judicial tyrants on the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, ruled that New Jersey football coach, Marcus Borden, at East Brunswick High School, may not participate in the prayers his team conducts before their football games, nor can he participate in silent acts. The judicial tyranny by judges appointed by Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton continues in full force in America month after month.

Coach Borden's attorneys vow to appeal the decision by these judicial dictators, including an appeal to the full 3rd circuit court, and they believe that the case will eventually end up before the United States Supreme Court. Coach Borden's school district had instituted the policy in October 2005 prohibiting any school representative from participating in student-initiated prayer.

For 23 years, Coach Borden had led his football team in pre-game prayer until some atheist parents began complaining. Thankfully, the football team voted to continue their pre-game prayers. Coach Borden only wanted to bow his head and silently "take a knee' but the radical atheists would not even allow that and federal judge agreed he could do that, but the 3rd circuit court panel overruled that judge last week.

Christian Coalition Activists Need to Encourage 110th Congress to Pass Both "Net Neutrality" and "Multicast-Equal Access" Legislation to Prevent Discrimination Against Religious Broadcasters - Democrat-controlled Congress Expected to Pass "Net Neutrality"

"Multicast/Equal Access" (formerly called "Multicast/Must-carry") will go a long way to preventing discrimination against religious broadcasters. Without a "Multicast/Equal Access" law, the cable and satellite companies would probably not add new Christian channels and the influence of current Christian channels will be diluted.

ACTION ITEM: Please all your Congressman at 202-225-3121 or you can go to http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm and email them and urge them to co-sponsor the Net Neutrality legislation introduced by Republican Congressman Charles "Chip" Pickering and Democrat Congressman Edward Markey called the "Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2008," H.R. 5353.

Join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate

Please sign our petition and join the Judicial Task Force at: http://www.cc.org/taskforce.cfm

Encourage your family, friends and church friends to also sign the petition at our website and to join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate.

There are a number of President Bush's Circuit Court of Appeals' nominees who have not yet received a Senate floor vote. The challenge to confirm President Bush's nominees in a Democrat-controlled Senate will be very difficult and we need your help in doing just that. You will become part of a team of individuals who are committed to being ready on a moment’s notice to take action when obstruction occurs.
