Rudy Giuliani and John McCain now Agree with ALL Republican Presidential Candidates in Their Strong Opposition to the Clearly Anti-America Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST)

LOST has been vehemently opposed by President Ronald Reagan, the last Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, the current Republican Senate Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell, and the entire Senate Republican Leadership.

All Republican presidential candidates, including Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Fred Thompson, have come out in strong opposition to the abominable Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (loaded with radical internationalists such as John Kerry, Barrack Hussein Obama, Christopher Dodd, Barbara Boxer, Richard Lugar, Chuck Hagel, etc.) by a 17-4 vote on Wednesday. Last week, the leader of the Republicans in the United States Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell, R-KY, came out strongly against LOST and his opposition will be a key factor in defeating this despicable treaty.

Senate Republican Leaders on Thursday sent a letter to the Democrat leadership expressing concern for LOST and urged Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, to not to move this dangerous treaty further until the Senate has conducted a more thorough and rigorous examination.

The following are excerpts from some of the Republican presidential candidate statements opposing the Law of Sea Treaty:

Fred Thompson: "I oppose the ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty ...The Treaty threatens U.S. sovereignty and gives a U.N.-affiliated organization far too much authority over U.S. interests in international waters. The American people also deserve ironclad assurances that the problems with the treaty highlighted by President Reagan more than 2 decades ago have been fixed...."

Duncan Hunter: "It is imperative that our nation does not surrender decision making power for military navigation or resource extraction, especially in this age of terrorism with technology and weapons proliferation. And adding a new set of U.N. bureaucrats with license to tax and adjudicate disputes is the last thing this country needs."

Mike Huckabee: "...It's like taking our sovereignty and handing it over to some international tribunal. What's wrong with us? ... the Law of the Sea Treaty essentially would say that the United States would give up certain controls of its territorial waters, it would give up its sovereign understanding of what it can do within its own seas both at the surface and within the depths, and that we would virtually hand ourselves over to an international body of justice."

Rudy Guiliani: "...But I believe the treaty (Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST)) is fundamentally flawed. I cannot support the creation of yet another unaccountable international bureaucracy that might infringe on American sovereignty and curtail America's freedoms. I oppose ratification of that treaty as long as it fails to address these concerns."

John McCain: "...I think we need a Law of the Sea. I think it's important, but I have not frankly looked too carefully at the latest situation as it is, but it would be nice if we had some of the provisions in it. But I do worry a lot about American sovereignty aspects of it, so I would probably vote against it in its present form...But I'm just too concerned about the aspect of United States sovereignty being handed over to some international organization."

The Coalition to Preserve American Sovereignty said that former Mitt Romney, through a statement by his spokesman published October 26, has become the latest Presidential candidate to oppose LOST: "Governor Romney has concerns with the Law of the Sea Treaty. He believes giving unaccountable international institutions more power is a serious problem."

Americans are beginning to wake up to the dangers of the Law of the Sea Treaty supported by the internationalists in the United States Congress, and unfortunately, supported by many in the Bush Administration. These Americans are contacting their Senators to urge them to vote NO on this abominable LOST treaty. This is a treaty which President Ronald Reagan despised and ensured it would not pass the United States Senate. Like Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, the last Republican Senator Majority Leader, Bill Frist, opposed the LOST treaty and Majority Leader Frist prevented it from even getting a vote in the Senate during his tenure.

Call and thank these 4 key Republican members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee who voted NO on this abominable Law of the Sea Treaty on Wednesday: Senators Norm Coleman (MN) – (202) 224-5641; Jim DeMint (SC) - (202) 224-6121; Johnny Isakson (GA) – (202) 224-3643; and David Vitter (LA) - (202)-224-4623.

Please call these 6 Republican members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee who voted FOR the Law of the Sea Treaty on Wednesday and urge them to change their vote if the Senate Democrat leadership forces this LOST treaty to the Senate floor: Senators Richard Lugar (IN) - (202) 224-4814; Chuck Hagel (NE) - (202) 224-4224; Bob Corker (TN) – (202) 224-3344; John Sununu (NH) – (202) 224-2841; George V. Voinovich (OH) - (202) 224-3353; and Lisa Murkowski (AK) - (202) 224-6665.

All the Democrat Senators on the committee are left-wingers and ALL voted FOR this anti-America Law of the Sea Treaty [Senators Biden (DE), Dodd (CT), Kerry (MA), Feingold (WI), Boxer (CA), Bill Nelson (FL), Obama (IL), Menendez (NJ), Cardin (MD), Casey (PA), and Webb (VA.)]

ACTION ITEM: Please call both of your United State s Senators at 202-224-3121 or you can go to http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm and email them and urge them to vote NO on the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) if it comes up for a vote this month before their Thanksgiving vacation.

The Film "Bella" Gains 2nd Highest Per Theater Average of the Top 10 Films ($7,784 per screen) Last Weekend –-- “Bella" Wins Grand Prize Award for Best Dramatic Feature at the Heartland Film Festival

The great news this week is that the life-changing movie "Bella" -- even though shown on only 167 movie screens in only 31 cities -- had the 2nd highest average gross per screen, a whopping $7,784 per screen. This is the number which theaters care about since it dictates which film makes them more money per screen and if you get a high number all the theaters want that film. Christian Coalition supporters need to support this wonderful film this week and in the coming weeks.

Without a big advertisement budget and all the other advantages the major (and mostly left-wing) Hollywood Studio films have, "Bella" still came in #2 after some Halloween movie. In addition, "Bella" sold out the “two” largest highest grossing theaters in the country, both in NYC (Manhattan.) No other film sold out as many screens as "Bella" did in those theaters, which means that "Bella" beat the biggest films in the market head to head in the same theater - in the biggest theater and biggest market in the world. It is imperative that you and your friends fill seats this weekend and next week at movie theaters all over America showing the award-winning movie, "Bella," so the reach of this outstanding award-winning film can be extended all over America.

Sean Wolfington, a Producer of Metanoia Films said following the great success of "Bella" last weekend, "Thanks to the grassroots support of the Latino and faith community, Bella accomplished more than we expected, and we hope this is just the beginning. We are so grateful for the support we’ve received thus far, and if we can maintain that support in the second week, Bella will have the momentum to reach millions of people with its messag e of hope and redemption.”

Here is a national list of Theaters for "Bella": http://bellathemovie.com/theater/ and here is Eduardo Verastegui's story: www.BellaLifeEmails.com

In a recent LifeNews.com column, J. Matt Barber said that "... Bella’s central theme puts a premium on the value of human life — including life in the womb — and that is a value Hollywood just won’t tolerate. Just as the Hollywood left scoffed at The Passion of the Christ, it has largely ignored the award winning Bella. The movie’s life-affirming message just doesn’t comport with Tinseltown’s narrow leftist agenda." Besides winning the top award last year at the Toronto Film festival, "Bella" won the grand prize award for best dramatic feature this past week at the 16th annual Heartland Film Festival. One of the producers of "Bella" and the writer and director of "Bella," Alejandro Monteverde, accepted the Heartland Film Festival Award (a $100,000 grand prize.)

Democrat Senators Follow the Lead of the Democrat House of Representatives in Trying to Pass yet Another Socialist-leaning Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) into Law

This past week, the Senate Democrats copied the despicable performance by their Democrat counterparts in the United States House of Representatives in passing yet another socialist-leaning "children's" health insurance plan giving free insurance to "children" up to age 25 and for families earning as much as $83,000 per year, a bill which President George W. Bush has vowed to veto for a second time during a month's time.

During the previous week, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) which includes a whopping $35 billion increase. Last weekend when President Bush returned to the White House he said about the Do-Nothing Democrat Congress: "...I returned to Washington late last night. And when I got back to the White House, I was disappointed by what Congress had been doing -– and even more disappointed by what they had not been doing. This week, the majority in the House passed a new SCHIP bill that costs more over the next five years than the one I vetoed three weeks ago. It still moves millions of American children who now have private health insurance into government-run health care. It raises taxes to pay for it. And it fails to do what needs to be done: to put poor children first. After I vetoed their last SCHIP bill, I designated members of my administration to work with Congress to find common ground. Congressional leaders never met with them. Instead, the House once again passed a bill that they knew would not become law. And incredibly enough, the Senate will take up the same bill next wee k, which wastes valuable time...."

And after the Senate did indeed pass this abominable SCHIP bill, yet again, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, KY, said that it was time for the Democrat-controlled United States Congress, which has an all-time low approval rating of 11% to start addressing the country's priorities. Senator McConnell said: “Friday marks the first time in 20 years that Congress has gone this long without sending even a single appropriations bill down to the President for his signature. In addition, Congress is woefully behind in passing a clean veterans’ bill, fixing the middle-class tax hike, and working together to pass an SCHIP bill that the President will sign. Unless Congress acts soon, we’ll have troops in the field without a commitment from Congress to fund their mission. We ought to immediately provide our troops the funding they need. It’s time to start addressing the country’s priorities. All of these things need to be done, and soon.”

Christian Coalition of America Roberta Combs Condemns J.K. Rowling Announcement in Carnegie Hall that a Main Harry Potter Character is Homosexual

The President of Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs, was quoted in a number of publications around the world this past week concerning the announcement by the author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, in Carnegie Hall, New York City, that one of the main characters in the book/movie series is homosexual.

Here is an excerpt from the United Kingdom's "Daily Mail": "JK Rowling may be a saint to millions of children and their parents, but today she is a sinner to a large slice of middle America. The 42-year-old Harry Potter author has become a hate figure to Christian evangelicals in the US since she outed Albus Dumbledore as gay. The mother-of three, who is worth £545 million, told a New York audience that the much loved head of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizadry was homosexual.

Talk shows in the Bible Belt have condemned her, web-sites have reviled her, and newspaper letter columns have been filled with complaints. And there are fears it may affect profits at Warner Bros who have a further two films to make and a DVD on sale this Christmas. Roberta Combs, president of the two million strong Christian Coalition of America, said: "It's very disappointing that the author would have to make one of the characters gay. It's not a good example for our children, who really like the books and the movies. I think it encourages homosexuality." She called for a ban on the books, saying : "I would never allow my own children or grandchildren to read the books or watch the movies, and other parents should do so too." "...One website received over 3,000 postings in a day - typical was the message: "I am a Christian who supported these books as they brought the joy of reading back to sooooo many kids and adults. "Now, I will make sure I throw away all the copies I have, and no one in my family will ever read that trash again. What a huge disappointment and great loss for so many kids who could have enjoyed these books. "She just ensured that many, many, more people will not buy these books. "Not only has she destroyed a great hero, but she has tarnished the entire series." ...."

And the United Kingdom's "Sunday Times" says about the abominable pandering by J.K. Rowling to extreme left-wing groups: "...Rowling astonished fans 10 days ago in New York after a teenager asked if Dumbledore had ever enjoyed a real passion in his life. 'My truthful answer to you is that I have always thought of Dumbledore as gay,' Rowling replied to gasps and applause. She revealed that the object of Dumbledore's affection was Gellert Grindelwald, a fellow wizard who is briefly mentioned in the Potter books.

Signs of a backlash have now emerged. Evangelical Christian groups in America have condemned the bestselling series as immoral and have urged parents to boycott the books and films. One Catholic school has already removed the novels from its library. Ron Barker, pastor of St Joseph' s primary school in Boston, said the books were 'inappropriate.'

Roberta Combs, president of the Christian Coalition of America, which boasts millions of members and has close links to the Republican party, accused Rowling of 'encouraging homosexuality'...."

Former Congressman and Pro-life Champion Henry Hyde Will Receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award for Opposing Abortion on Monday

On Monday, former Congressman and hero of the unborn children in America and, indeed, around the world, Congressman Henry Hyde, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award for his decades-long work in fighting the #1 scourge in America: the abortion industry. During his many years in Congress his Hyde Amendment prevented virtually all federal funding of abortions. He served as Chairman of both the House International Relations Committee and the House Judiciary Committee where he led the effort in successfully impeaching pro-abortion Bill Clinton in December 1998.

The United States Supreme Court heard a case in 1980 during the presidency of pro-abortion Jimmy Carter and upheld the Hyde Amendment as constitutional, i.e. Americans do not have to use their hard-earned tax dollars to kill unborn children.

Unlike Terri Schiavo who had Liberal Judges Ruling Against her Parents to Keep Terri Alive, Jesse Ramirez’s Mother, Theresa, Found a Judge to Overrule Jesse's wife, who Pulled Jesse's Feeding Tube after only One Week after Car Accident

A coma victim, due to a car accident, named Jesse Ramirez, had a mother named Theresa who found a judge last June to overrule Jesse's wife's decision to pull his feeding tube after only one week following Jesse's accident. Jesse had gone without food and water for an incredibly cruel 5 days. A wonderful judge ordered that Jesse be temporarily rehydrated and nourished. As a result the judge saved his life and Jesse regained consciousness. On October 19th, just months after being nearly dehydrated to death by his wife and doctors, Jesse Ramirez walked out of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona on his own two legs.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the outcome in the hugely-publicized Terri Schiavo case. Anti-life state and federal judges were determined to carry out the wishes of Terri's spouse and put her to death. The Republican leadership in the Republican-controlled 109th Congress in its finest hour this century voted overwhelmingly in both the House and Senate to attempt to save Terri Schiavo's life. President George W. Bush, in his finest hour of his presidency, even flew back from Texas to Washington D.C. during his Easter vacation to sign the Terri Schiavo bill into law. Unfortunately, the Culture of Death in Florida and in the federal courts won out and Terri was starved to death. There are many similar cases to Jesse Ramirez' case where other unconscious patients wake up after being sentenced to death by dehydration.

Christian Coalition Activists Need to Encourage 110th Congress to Pass Both "Net Neutrality" and "Multicast/Equal Access" Legislation to Prevent Discrimination Against Religious Broadcasters /Democrat-controlled Congress Expected to Pass "Net Neutrality"

The lame-duck Republican Senate did not pass a telecommunications bill and thus a "Net Neutrality" provision was not passed in the 109th Congress. "Net Neutrality" is an issue extremely important to America's grassroots organizations and those Americans who want to ensure the cable and phone companies controlling access to the Internet will not discriminate against groups like Christian Coalition of America. Although AT&T recently made an agreement with the FCC that it would agree to "net neutrality" in order to merge with BellSouth Corp. in a $86 billion merger, the agreement only lasts 2 years. Therefore Congress must pass "net neutrality" legislation in order to make "net neutrality" permanent.

It is anticipated that the Democrat-controlled 110th Congress will agree with the position of the recent House Judiciary Committee Chairman, James Sensenbrenner, Republican-WI, and pass a "Net Neutrality" bill during the 110th Congress. If "Net Neutrality" legislation does not pass, consumers will have to pay an additional fee to have a website. The cable/telephone monopoly will be dividing the Internet into a "fast track" and "slow track." Our grassroots, many of whom cannot afford the additional fees, will have to be on the slow track, which will mean that many of our websites will be passed by because the general public will not have the patience to go on the "slow track".

"Multicast/Equal Access" (formerly called "Multicast/Must-carry") will go a long way to preventing discrimination against religious broadcasters. Without a "Multicast/Equal Access" law, the cable and satellite companies would probably not add new Christian channels and the influence of current Christian channels will be diluted.

ACTION ITEM: Please continue to ask your Members of Congress to support “Multicast/Equal Access” and religious broadcasters. Call your Congressman and 2 Senators at 202-225-3121 or you can go to http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm and email them and let them know we need a “Multicast/Equal Access” and "Net Neutrality" legislation to pass in the 110th Congress.

Join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate

Please sign our petition and join the Faith & Family Television Task Force @ http://www.cc.org/taskforce.cfm

Encourage your family, friends and church friends to also sign the petition at our website and to join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate.

There are a number of President Bush's Circuit Court of Appeals' nominees who have not yet received a Senate floor vote. The challenge to confirm President Bush's nominees in a Democrat-controlled Senate will be very difficult and we need your help in doing just that. You will become part of a team of individuals who are committed to being ready on a moment’s notice to take action when obstruction occurs.
