TODAY, the Life-Changing Movie "Bella" Begins in Movie Screens All over the United States

Pro-life Champion Congressman Chris Smith and Wife Marie Smith Urge Everyone to See "Bella" THIS Weekend, A Movie Which Has Already Changed Lives and Saved Babies.

It is imperative that you and your friends fill seats this weekend at movie theaters all over America showing the award-winning movie, "Bella." The Champion of the Unborn in the United States Congress, Congressman Chris Smith, Republican from New Jersey and his wife, Marie Smith, sent out the following letter regarding "Bella":

"Dear Friend, We are thrilled to make a request of you that we believe you will enjoy. It is time to 'get out of the trenches' and go to the movies! Please go see the award-winning film Bella during the first two weekends of its limited release beginning on October 26th. Attendance on these Fridays and Saturdays is essential to Bella’s future—October 26th, 27th, November 2nd and 3rd— so it can go on to wide release and larger audiences.

“Bella”, (Spanish for beautiful) is a movie we have seen, enjoyed, enthusiastically support, and welcome in the ongoing struggle to change hearts and minds on abortion. We applaud Bella’s artful presentation of the struggle an unexpected pregnancy poses for a New York City waitress. In fact, “Bella” has great potential to be nominated for an Oscar since it won top honors in the prestigious Toronto Film Festival. It is a message of hope, love, and life that can save lives. In fact, it already has. But the film must have immediate success at the box office before it can go on to a wide release. The team that worked faithfully to produce such a quality film with a powerful affirmation of life and family, Metanoia Films, deserves our support and our thanks.

Please go to see Bella and take your friends with you. Thank you.

Rep. Chris Smith and Marie Smith."

Here is a national list of Theaters for "Bella": http://bellathemovie.com/theater/ and here is Eduardo Verastegui's story: www.BellaLifeEmails.com. Steve McEveely, the Executive Producer of "Braveheart" and a producer of "The Passion of the Christ" said about "Bella": "The last film with Bella's momentum was the 'Passion of the Christ.' The Passion showed how Christ died f or us and 'Bella' shows how we should live for others." Indeed, at a recent event, a woman stood up and told the producers of "Bella" that the baby she was holding, a baby she named Bella, was saved from death because she changed her mind about having an abortion after seeing the movie a few months ago. That is how powerful this movie is.

In a recent LifeNews.com column, J. Matt Barber said that "(Bella) the movie, an inspirational drama set in modern-day New York, has what America’s been asking for but what Hollywood refuses to give. Having won the People’s Choice Award at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, you’d think major Hollywood distribution companies would be crawling over one another for a crack at the film. But such is not the case. Bella’s central theme puts a premium on the value of human life — including life in the womb — and that is a value Hollywood just won’t tolerate. Just as the Hollywood left scoffed at The Passion of the Christ, it has largely ignored the award winning Bella. The movie’s life-affirming message just doesn’t comport with Tinseltown’s narrow leftist agenda."

Thankfully, the anti-American and anti-Iraq War movies in theaters recently are dismal failures. Fox News' Bill O'Reilly said yesterday about left-wing actress Reese Witherspoon's newest movie failure:

"The actress Reese Witherspoon can't be pleased with the performance of her new movie 'Rendition.' It is a colossal bomb and will disappear as quickly as one of the movie's characters, courtesy of the evil CIA, of course. Once again Hollywood is on a 'let's make America look bad' binge. This is caused by loathing for the Bush administration, which the entertainment left sees as a combination of the Third Reich and Emperor Nero...." "...The Sundance Kid, Robert Redford has directed a movie called 'Lions for Lambs,' of which Variety opines, 'Back-bendingly liberal...." There is no question that every time a Redford, Sean Penn, or Barbara Streisand bashes the USA to the overseas press, millions of American-haters rub their hands with glee. Prop up Hugo Chavez, sure. Shake hands with the Iranian fascists, certainly. But the tide has turned against these showbiz pinheads, and the failure of movies such as 'Rendition' prove it. Dissent is fine. Dishonest propaganda is not."

Hollywood needs to produce many more movies like the award-winning "Bella" film opening in theaters all over America today.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell joins presidential candidates Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and Mitt Romney in Opposing the Clearly Anti-America Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) Which was Vehemently Opposed by President Ronald Reagan and the last Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist

As Americans are beginning to wake up to the dangerous Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) supported by the internationalists in the United States Congress, and unfortunately, supported by many in the Bush Administration, these Americans are contacting their Senators to urge them to vote NO on this abominable LOST treaty. This is a treaty which President Ronald Reagan despised and ensured it would not pass the United States Senate. The last Republican Senator Majority Leader, Bill Frist blocked from even getting a vote in the Senate.

This week, four major Republican leaders came out in strong opposition to this anti-American sovereignty treaty including the top Republican in the United States Senate, Leader Mitch McConnell from Kentucky. He joined 3 of the top 5 Republican presidential candidates in opposing LOST: former Senator Fred Thompson (TN), former Governor Mike Huckabee (AR) and former Governor Mitt Romney (MA).

ACTION ITEM: Please Contact both of your United States Senators and urge them to VOTE NO on the Law of the Sea Treat (LOST) if it comes up for a vote this month – Call your Senators @ 202-224-3121 or you can go to http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm and email them.

Poll Reveals that 54% of Americans Are Pro-life, Yet the United States Congress and Media Act Like the Reverse is True - Congressman Trent Franks Gives Tremendous Pro-life Speech on House floor During Debate of SCHIP Bill

LifeNews.com reported this week that a new poll conducted by CBS News makes it clear that a majority of Americans are pro-life when it comes to the issue of abortion. The CBS poll basically said that 54% of Americans oppose 98% of all abortions, those abortions done to save the life of the mother, or for rape and incest (the latter 3 types of abortion account for only 2% of the total number of abortions done in America).

Life News.Com says: "The October survey finds 54 percent of Americans take one of three pro-life positions opposing all or almost all abortions and another 16 percent want more restrictions on it. The October 12-16 poll asked Americans to tell CBS News their "personal feelings" on abortion. The survey found that 16 percent of the public only favors allowing abortions "only to save woman's life" and another 34 percent think abortions should only be allowed in the very rare cases of rape, incest or to save the mother's life. Another four percent of Americans want all abortions to be made illegal. .... According to the survey, just 26 percent of the public wants abortions permitted in all cases. Another 16 percent want abortions to remain legal but to be subject to greater restrictions than they currently face.

This week in a speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives opposing the Democrats' newest effort to impose socialized medicine on the American people, Congressman Trent Franks, R-AZ said in opposing the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) bill: "...It is the Democrat Party, Mr. Speaker, that has for decades fought for an abortion-on-demand policy that has allowed thousands of unborn children to be killed in America every day. At the beginning of this Congress, newly elected Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, 'We are here for the children.' And she called the House to order for 'all of America’s children.'

But she didn’t mean all of them, Mr. Speaker. In fact, most Democrat Members of this body, including Speaker Pelosi, voted against, in the last Congress, allowing unborn children to even receive anesthetic when undergoing abortion procedures so torturous that they would be a felony if performed on an animal. Mr. Speaker, behind me this picture is a little baby who deserves to be protected like every other child in this country, and yet before the sun sets in America today, 4,000 unborn children will be killed through abortion on demand, and, Mr. Speaker, their mothers will never be the same."

Congressman Trent Franks went on to say: "The Democrat Speaker and the majority of this Congress have to somehow understand that there are better ways to help mothers than killing their children for them. And they must also realize that they can never have credibility as advocates for children while they still support an abortion-on-demand policy that has killed nearly 50 million innocent children. Mr. Speaker, it is time for Members of this body to come together and to truly do the right thing for all of America’s children, even those yet unborn...."

President George W. Bush Praises the U.S. Senate for FINALLY Confirming Judge Southwick to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday by a 59-38 vote

It took the Democrats 6 years to finally vote to fill the vacant seat on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals after numerous filibusters and the withdrawal of two of President Bush's nominees for that position. On Wednesday, Judge Leslie Southwick was finally confirmed by the United States Senate by a margin of 59-38.

President Bush said following the vote: "The confirmation of Judge Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit is a victory for America's judicial system and for the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Today's bipartisan vote resolves a long-standing judicial emergency and will help ensure that the Fifth Circuit can operate more effectively. Judge Southwick is a man of character and intelligence who will apply the law fairly. I appreciate the Senate's approval of his nomination.

While today's vote resolves one judicial emergency, many of America's Federal courts continue to have unnecessary vacancies. I have nominated highly qualified men and women to serve on these courts. Now the Senate must act. In the final two years of the past three administrations, the Senate has confirmed an average of 17 circuit court judges - but since January of this year, the Senate has confirmed only five circuit court nominees. The Senate has more work to do. I once again call upon the Senate to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities and promptly provide these nominees fair up or down votes."

Senator Sam Brownback, R-KS said following the vote on Judge Southwick: "Judge Southwick has an outstanding judicial record, a proven commitment to public service, and a remarkable dedication to his country. I know that Judge Southwick will be a great addition to the federal appellate bench.” Judge Southwick, an Iraq war veteran, was nominated to serve on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, a vacancy that had been deemed a judicial emergency. In 2004, the Mississippi State Bar honored Judge Southwick with its Judicial Excellence Award. Southwick also has been rated by the American Bar Association as “Well-Qualified,” which is the ABA’s highest rating.

Democrats' Attempt to Pass a Socialist-leaning Children's Insurance Program (SCHIP) Which Offers Free Health Insurance for families Making up to $83,000 per year and for Children up to age 25 Fails for 3rd Time in a Row

Even after the House Democrat leaders failed to persuade one Republican in the House of Representatives who voted against the Democrat socialist-leaning bill to increase the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) by a whopping $35 billion - to change his mind in a vote last week to override President Bush's veto of this abominable bill, they tried yet again yesterday to pass this abominable bill pretending that they made changes to the 225+ page bill to satisfy the Republicans who have now voted NO 3 times. The Democrats' bill would include free health insurance for children from families making up to $83,000 and would include "children" up to age 25.

Today, President Bush said regarding the 3rd attempt to pass SCHIP: "I returned to Washington late last night. And when I got back to the White House, I was disappointed by what Congress had been doing -– and even more disappointed by what they had not been doing. This week, the majority in the House passed a new SCHIP bill that costs more over the next five years than the one I vetoed three weeks ago. It still moves millions of American children who now have private health insurance into government-run health care. It raises taxes to pay for it. And it fails to do what needs to be done: to put poor children first. After I vetoed their last SCHIP bill, I designated members of my administration to work with Congress to find common ground. Congressional leaders never met with them. Instead, the House once again passed a bill that they knew would not become law. And incredibly enough, the Senate will take up the same bill next week, which wastes valuable time..."

Incidentally for the first time in 20 years since the Democrats last controlled Congress, as they do in this 110th Congress, they have not passed a single of the 13 spending bills which are supposed to be sent to the president. They were supposed to have passed and sent to President Bush all 13 spending bills by October 1st. As a result the Democrat Congress has an 11% approval rating, the lowest in the history of the United States Congress.

Senator Sam Brownback Earns Victory in U.S. Senate During the Same Week he Left his Presidential race as he Forced Liberal New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg to Withdraw his Damaging Amendment on Medical Accuracy

During the week he ended his presidential campaign, Senator Sam Brownback, R-KS, came back to the United States Senate and won a victory by introducing an amendment to the radical anti-abstinence legislation introduced by left-wing Democrat Frank Lautenberg from New Jersey who wanted to kill all abstinence education in the entire United States with his abominable amendment.

Senator Lautenberg had filed a “medically accurate” abstinence education amendment to the Labor-HHS Appropriations Bill. This amendment, which was an attempt to undermine true abstinence education efforts, would “prohibit the use of funds to provide abstinence education that includes information that is medically inaccurate.” Senators Brownback and Senator Jim DeMint, R-SC, worked with the leader of the Senate Republicans, Senator Mitch McConnell, and persuaded Senator Lautenberg to withdraw his egregious amendment to the Labor-Health and Human Services appropriations bill.

Democrats' DREAM Act (Amnesty for up to 3.5 Million Illegal Alien Family Members) Sponsored by Senate Whip Richard Durbin Fails to Get Enought Votes to Override President Bush's Expected Veto Falling 8 Votes Short

On Wednesday, the United States Senate blocked the DREAM act, a bill to legalize up to 3.5 million illegal alien family members including illegal-alien students. This is the 2nd time this year the American people forced the United States Senate to stop amnesty for illegal aliens. Senator Jeff Session, R-AL, after the 52-44 vote on Wednesday said: "A lot of senators concluded that from the last vote: Citizenship is not on the table anymore." Senator Sessions led the opposition to the Dream Act and has been quoted saying that the failure earlier this year of President Bush's broad legalization bill has fundamentally moved the debate toward the right.

Supposedly, the Dream Act -- which gives amnesty to illegal-alien students -- was the least controversial part of immigration, and yet like the overall immigration reform bill defeated by the American people last summer, is dead for the 110th Congress. Republicans maintain that the federal government needs to get a control of the border and to build the 800 plus mile fence the Congress directed the Bush Administration to build.

The DREAM bill would have given those people conditional green cards, with an eventual chance for citizenship. The "Washington Times" yesterday reported that "The White House said the Dream Act could legalize felons, would allow newly legalized residents to jump the existing immigration line, and would open the system up to docu ment fraud — all charges Republicans aimed at Mr. Bush's own bill earlier this year." The Center for Immigration Studies did an analysis which showed that the DREAM Act offers amnesty to 2.1 million and another 1.4 million family members could also stay.

Christian Coalition Activists Need to Encourage 110th Congress to Pass Both "Net Neutrality" and "Multicast/Equal Access" Legislation to Prevent Discrimination Against Religious Broadcasters - Democrat-controlled Congress Expected to Pass "Net Neutrality"

The lame-duck Republican Senate did not pass a telecommunications bill and thus a "Net Neutrality" provision was not passed in the 109th Congress. "Net Neutrality" is an issue extremely important to America's grassroots organizations and those Americans who want to ensure the cable and phone companies controlling access to the Internet will not discriminate against groups like Christian Coalition of America. Although AT&T recently made an agreement with the FCC that it would agree to "net neutrality" in order to merge with BellSou th Corp. in a $86 billion merger, the agreement only lasts 2 years. Therefore Congress must pass "net neutrality" legislation in order to make "net neutrality" permanent.

It is anticipated that the Democrat-controlled 110th Congress will agree with the position of the recent House Judiciary Committee Chairman, James Sensenbrenner, Republican-WI, and pass a "Net Neutrality" bill during the 110th Congress. If "Net Neutrality" legislation does not pass, consumers will have to pay an additional fee to have a website. The cable/telephone monopoly will be dividing the Internet into a "fast track" and "slow track." Our grassroots, many of whom cannot afford the additional fees, will have to be on the slow track, which will mean that many of our websites will be passed by because the general public will not have the patience to go on the "slow track".

"Multicast/Equal Access" (formerly called "Multicast/Must-carry") will go a long way to preventing discrimination against religious broadcasters. Without a "Multicast/Equal Access" law, the cable and satellite companies would probably not add new Christian channels and the influence of current Christian channels will be diluted.

ACTION ITEM: Please contact your Congressman and both Senators and let them know we need “Multicast/Equal Access” and "Net Neutrality" legislation to pass in the 110th Congress - Call them @ 202-225-3121 or you can go to email them @ http://www.cc.org/contactcongress.cfm.

Join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate

Please sign our petition and join the Faith & Family Television Task Force @ http://www.cc.org/taskforce.cfm

Encourage your family, friends and church friends to also sign the petition at our website and to join the Christian Coalition’s Judicial Task Force, which is dedicated to ending the obstruction of the President's judicial nominees and ensuring that they ALL receive a fair "up or down" vote by the full Senate.

There are a number of President Bush's Circuit Court of Appeals' nominees who have not yet received a Senate floor vote. The challenge to confirm President Bush's nominees in a Democrat-controlled Senate will be very difficult and we need your help in doing just that. You will become part of a team of individuals who are committed to being ready on a moment’s notice to take action when obstruction occurs.

Please keep the above issues in prayer. Through prayer and action great and mighty things can be accomplished.
