Video: Rubio gives response to Obama in post election message

Congressional Republicans wasted no time putting Marco Rubio front and center, giving him the honor of giving the first post-election response to President Obama's weekly address this past Saturday.

The video clearly shows why so many liberals were worried about Rubio winning the Florida Senate race and being given a place in the national spotlight.  He's effective.  Very effective.  In fact, he's immediately one of the most effective conservative communicators on the national stage.

Check it out for yourself.

Iowa voters booted judges that mandated gay marriage

Amid all of the other incredible results in the recent election was a sweet bit of electoral justice in Iowa:

(via CNN)

Voters in Iowa chose to remove three high court justices who helped make Iowa the first Midwestern state to permit same-sex marriage.

The vote marks the first time a member of the Iowa Supreme Court has been rejected by the voters under the current system that began in 1962.

Under the voting system in Iowa, each of the three justices up for retention -- Chief Justice Marsha Ternus, David Baker and Michael Streit -- needed simply to get more "yes" votes than "no" votes in the election to be elected for another eight-year term. They faced no opponents. None of the judges raised money for the campaign.

While all seven justices on the court ruled with Ternus, Baker and Streit, those three were the only ones whose seats were up for retention. None of them received the 50 percent "yes" vote needed to remain on the bench.

With Hearts Full of Gratitude For All Your Prayers Lifted Up During This Critical Season in America

"Come let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand." - Psalms 95:6-7 (NAS)

Dear Prayer Partners,

Roberta Combs, our President, and every leader of the Christian Coalition have hearts full of great gratitude for all of your prayers and support during this critical season in America and our future. We are very thankful for your dedication and love for our country, this organization and the future of our children and grandchildren. Your part in this organization is very critical and we cannot express to you the importance we know you have been in the success of anything we have accomplished for the Lord and our nation. Thank you.

As our newly elected officials take office, continue to lift them up and ask the Lord to fill them with Godly wisdom and boldness to stand for what is right and good for us as a nation. Pray the Lord will be acknowledged again in the decisions made by our leaders. Pray for the President and his cabinet. Pray the Holy Spirit will bring conviction to our elected officials hearts in Washington of who He is and wants to be in their life.

You did it!

You did it!  You made it happen!

All across America, millions of pro-family conservatives flocked to the polls and took part in the most historic US election since the Great Depression.

They came out in support of candidates who responded to their calls for leadership that will stand against an intrusive and big spending government, and for traditional values.

The result demonstrates the true power of America’s largest voting bloc.

In the months leading up to the election, the Christian Coalition leveraged the power of the Internet and social media to educate voters with a combination of online advertising in targeted states and viral online tools that empowered conservative activists.

Within recent months we launched new online tools such as:

  • A “Voter Guides” tab for Facebook pages
  • A “Donate Your Status” application to promote voter guides on Facebook and Twitter
  • A Coalition toolbar for web browsers
  • A voter guide widget that enabled supporters to crowd-source voter guide distribution

In the end, our job was to provide the tools.  You provided the manpower.

As a result, we connected with hundreds of thousands of additional conservatives, identified tens of thousands of new activists and our voter guides were seen by millions of voters all across the country.

Rubio wins big in Florida senate race (Newsmax)

Tea party favorite Marco Rubio capped his dramatic rise with an easy win Tuesday over Gov. Charlie Crist and U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek in the race for Florida's open Senate seat, keeping it with the GOP.

"We make a great mistake if we believe that tonight these results are somehow an embrace of the Republican Party," Rubio told supporters at a rally, referring to his and other GOP wins around the country. "What they are is a second chance, a second chance for Republicans to be what they said they were going to be not so long ago."

Rubio, a former speaker of the Florida House, was given little chance to defeat Crist when he announced his candidacy last year. Rubio will replace George LeMieux, who was appointed to the seat last year after Mel Martinez resigned.

Moments before the race was called, former Gov. Jeb Bush walked into the room where Rubio was watching returns and said, "Congratulations!" ...

Will you donate three status updates for voter guides?

Will you help us promote voter guides by donating one status update on your social network of choice every two days between now and Election Day?

Tuesday will be here before you know it, which means our time to get voter guides into the hands of more voters is growing short.

Our new “Donate Your status” application makes it easy to spread the word to others you know by using the viral power of social networking.

When you use either one of these services, it automatically allows you to “donate” a status update on behalf of our voter guides, one time each week between now and Tuesday.

You just click the appropriate service logo on our “Donate Your Status” page, and then give our application permission to post the message on your behalf.

That’s it!

Every two days your friends on these networks will see a message from you encouraging them to download and distribute voter guides.  And given the viral nature of Facebook and Twitter, it will help us reach out to hundreds of thousands of other potential pro-family activists, increasing our chances of success.

It's Election Day!

Today is the day to bring some REAL change to America.

Recent polls show a record number of competitive US House and Senate races...and lots of momentum for conservatives.  And while those reports and VERY encouraging, they are still just opinion polls.  They're not votes.  Yet.

If you haven't done it yet, be sure to go to our 2010 Voter Guide page and download voter guides for your area.  Print, copy and distribute to anyone and everyone you know and help make sure they know where the candidates really stand before they cast their ballot.

We also have a great application that helps you promote voter guides on social networks (Facebook and Twitter), over the next day, to all of your friends AUTOMATICALLY with just 1 status update or 'tweet' over the course of Election Day.

But just one more educated voter can be the difference between victory or defeat for candidates that will actually respect our values and our Constitution.  In other words, every vote counts!

2010 Online Outreach: Voter Guide Widgets

We’re unveiling part 2 of our “2010 Online Outreach” program.  It’s a new way we’ve created for you to help us spread the word about voter guide distribution for the upcoming elections.

It’s our new “Voter Guide Widget”, and makes it easy for you to allow others to sign up to help distribute Christian Coalition voter guides right from your own websites.

You can customize the widget dimensions to suit your own site, get your custom code and then place it on any website that you control.  In fact, you can even place a widget within a blog entry, or any place where you can post html.

That’s it!  The widget does the rest by allowing your site’s visitors to sign up.  We will let them know when voter guides are ready.

So help us spread the word by downloading your own customized widget today!

Also, if you know anyone else who has a blog or other website they can place a widget on, send them a link to this page today and encourage them to do the same.

And be sure to share this page on Facebook or Twitter!
