What’s Bad For K Street is Good for Americans

“K St. lobbyists predict a big rebound in 2013,” blared in gigantic bold letters at the top of the front-page article in “The Hill” newspaper on March 5, 2013.  Let us all hope that headline is not true.  Because what is good for K Street is bad for American taxpayers and vice versa, for the most part.  Those of us who have worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. have friends who are or have been corporate lobbyists on K Street which runs parallel to Constitution and Independence Avenues, between the Capitol Building and the White House.  “The Hill” article reported that “K Street firms are predicting a strong rebound in 2013.”

Little Known History Facts of First Thanksgiving

Having been subjected to the hijacking of our history by “progressives” who have stealthily commandeered our schools, colleges and universities as well as the airwaves and media, it is necessary to take the effort to rediscover the facts of our founding and our roots by putting our noses back in the history books, re-educate ourselves and bring the real Biblical history of America back into focus. Commentator-Radio Host Jerry Newcombe is coming to the keyboard to get us started while joining me in Wishing You A Very Happy Thanksgiving:

Providence and the Pilgrims
By Jerry Newcombe
11/24/11

Every Thanksgiving is an annual reminder of our nation’s Christian roots. The Pilgrims began the tradition, and Presidents Washington and Lincoln made it an official holiday.

The details surrounding the Pilgrims were such that they had much to be grateful for. Here is just a sample.

The Pilgrims were a small congregation who secretly became a congregation in central England in 1606 when they formed a spiritual covenant with one another.

Because of persecution for those who would not conform with the Church of England, they emigrated to Holland for about 11 years. Eventually, they decided to come to British North America, to sail to the “Northern parts of Virginia,” after the permanency of the Jamestown settlement, so that they could worship Jesus Christ in total freedom.

Fourth of July- Independence Renewal of All

"If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." - John 8:36 (KJV)

President George Washington wrote a prayer addressed to "O most glorious God, in Jesus Christ" and ended it with this: "let me live according to those holy rules which thou hast this day prescribed in thy holy word. Direct me to the true object, Jesus Christ, the way, the truth and the life. Bless o lord all the people of this land." If you haven't known this freedom in Jesus Christ please ask him to come into your heart today and receive true freedom that only he can give. George Washington knew this freedom.

President Abraham Lincoln: "the ways of God are mysterious and profound beyond all comprehension. Who by searching can find him out? God only knows the issue of this business. He has destroyed nations from the map of history for their sins. Nevertheless, my hopes prevail generally above my fears for our republic. The times are dark, the spirits of ruin are abroad in all their power, and the mercy of God alone can save us." America is in a very dark place in history and as a nation we lack true obedience to our lord, please pray for a true national repentance that changes the outcome of this great nation. Thank the lord for each family that paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Because of their dedication and love for America we can celebrate the Fourth of July.
