Radicals struggling to rewrite history

America has always stood with Israel because of our shared Judeo-Christian values and traditions. But now we have members in the U.S. Congress who want to change this relationship just as they want to change the very fabric and foundation of our heritage, faith and culture as shaped and handed down by America’s founding fathers.

Radical Islam and radical liberals, or progressives as they often prefer to be called, are attempting to rewrite history of both the United States and Israel in order to further their political or religious agendas. In every generation there are moments in time when we are called upon to stand up for the truth.  We may be alive today for “such a time as this.”

From Missiles to Menorah

On Sunday evening, December 2nd, the people of Sderot, Israel - a town located less than one mile from the Gaza border – gathered to light the first candle of the town’s menorah to commemorate the first day of Chanukah (also spelled Hanukkah). Jews around the world celebrate this holiday which marks the time when the Maccabean Jews regained control of Jerusalem and rededicated the Second Temple.  What makes the candle lighting in Sderot worth mentioning is the fact that it is symbolic of how the Jewish spirit looks for ways to turn tragedy into triumph.

Truth is the Enemy of Islam

From cradle to grave Muslims are taught to hate Jews.  It’s instilled in them to believe that peace will come only when every Jew is removed from off the face of the earth but it wasn’t always this way.

Lessons from the Land: Before the Rooster Crows

One of my most memorable experiences in Israel happened many years ago right outside the Old City of Jerusalem. I was living at a school on Mount Zion at the time, pursuing a master’s degree in Judeo-Christian Studies. As students often do, we came up with a bright idea that provided adventure while burning off pent-up energy from days spent in class. Our idea was to hike to the top of the Mount of Olives to watch the sunrise.

Christian Apathy Contributes to Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for right and against wrong? Where are all of the Christians who should be standing for Israel? G-d Himself in Genesis 12:3 said, “I will bless those who bless you (Israel) and the one who curses you (does not stand) I will curse.”

A basic premise of Christian faith and roots has everything to do with Israel.  To ignore Israel is to shun G-d’s word of an eternal covenant with His Chosen People, the Jews, and an eternal covenant cannot be broken.  Our silence in our own countries also affects Israel, its land and people.  It is imperative that Christians all over the world stand and contend for Israel.

Calm Before the Storm in the Middle East

So now the three Biblically required attended feasts for the calendar year are ended. The Shemitah year is finished for this cycle and the four blood moons have appeared. The US did not stop the Iran Deal. The Pope met with Obama during the days of awe. And the world has not ended, at least not yet.

Though these events are thought to portend a particularly doomsday scenario, they have not, just as Y2K did not. Life goes on - even in the Middle East and in Israel. Same complaints, same problems, same joy in life events. Nothing has changed. It’s the status quo.

Shameful anti-Semitic posture of America’s Duke University

Like so many of America's universities, North Carolina's Duke University began with a strong Judeo-Christian foundation. But, also like many of those universities, Duke has strayed from its original values.

In 2004 Duke raised eyebrows for sponsoring a Palestinian Solidarity Movement conference. As one might imagine, the movement promoted divestment from Israel and supported the outrageous claim that "Zionism is racism." The conference sold T-shirts calling for the destruction of Israel.
