The land was deeded to Israel in an eternal covenant by the eternal G-d, the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When will the Christian nation of America with its professed Christian president stop pushing Israel in a direction that is contrary to G-d’s Word? Nothing in G-d’s Word says there will ever be a Palestinian state on Israeli soil. Seeking an answer to the above question, I forwarded a letter to President Barak Obama and I’d like to share that letter with those who follow my writings. The fact is that the Eternal
G-d of the universe made an eternal covenant with Israel for the land of Israel and not with the Palestinians.
A retired Army General and former high ranking official in the Obama Administration, recently spoke at a well-known American university. During the questions following his remarks he was asked by a student why “25% of US Foreign Aid goes to Israel.” The General stumbled around and gave no real answer other than “It’s complicated.”
What he did not say was that the premise of the question was wrong to start with because the percentage of US Foreign Aid to Israel is nowhere near 25%.
There has been a lot of talk in the media about the special friendship between Israel and the United States even though some have said that the lack of movement in the peace process has led to a 'falling out' between our two governments.
Well, I have to say I am never pleased to see disagreements between two friends; especially friends like Israel and America who share so much. We have the same core values, a belief in democracy and freedom, a belief in equality and opportunity, and a belief in standing up to extremism and hatred.
The United States struck a surprising nuclear deal with Iran last week. The agreement commits Iran to halt its nuclear activites for six months in exchange for limited and gradual sanctions relief. U.S. President Barack Obama hailed the deal as putting substantial limitations on the Iranian nuclear program which the U.S. and its allies have feared could lead to nuclear weapons capabilities. He stated, "For the first time in a decade we have halted the progress of the Iranian nuclear program."
They did it again. While we watched President Obama dodge the Syrian red line with Putin taking the lead, while we held our collective breaths as Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu and France’s President Hollande stalled negotiations over the Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the Islamists were at it again. This time they cunningly swooped in and placed their wildest dreams into the massive immigration reform bill recently passed by the United States Senate.
Support for Israel runs deep in the United States for a number of reasons. According to recent polls as many as 80 percent of American Christians feel a moral obligation to support Israel. A large part of this is due to the influence of the Bible but there is also an appreciation for Israel’s democratic values as well as empathy with Israel since the same terrorist organizations that want to destroy the Jewish state have also attacked America.
Another value that runs deep in American society is truthfulness, therefore dishonesty is frowned upon. For this reason many Americans are quite gullible and simply believe what they are told because of the assumption that they are being told the truth.
Almost every day we read in the newspapers that yet another deadly event has occurred between Hamas and Fatah in the Palestinian territories. In order for peace to prevail, it is obvious that these two opposing groups of people must put their differences aside and somehow form a unified government.
It would seem logical that Israel’s Arab neighbors would rise to the occasion and put real pressure on Hamas and Fatah to put aside their differences and make peace. But they do not. The question is, “Why?”
Israel appears to be between the proverbial rock and hard place. Unfortunately, Israel does not live in a friendly neighborhood. A half million hostile Arab neighbors surround Israel. Syria poses a dire threat. More importantly, recent frightening images from Syria have shown men, women and children writhing with seizures and pain caused by Assad attacking his own with chemical weapons. If Assad would kill his own people, what’s to keep him from attacking Israel to obtain the Golan Heights as a key strategic position?
