New study shows liberals just don't get economics

A new study was just concluded that took a look at how well people understood basic facts of economics, then asked them about their politics.  When the results of the economics quiz were cross-referenced with the politics of the respondents, the results seemed to bear out what conservatives have said about liberals for years - they just don't understand economics.

But now we have some researchers backing up our intuitions and
observations who hail from a place that's overwhelmed
with liberal thought - academia.

(via the Washington Times)

Americans describing themselves as conservative, very conservative and libertarian "do reasonably well" when asked about basic economic questions involving supply, demand and the effects of regulation, concluded Mr. Klein, an economics professor at George Mason University, and Ms. Buturovic, an associate researcher with the polling firm Zogby International.

"But the left has trouble squaring economic thinking with their political psychology, morals and aesthetics," the two write.  read more »

Review: Screen Actor's Guild Awards Show SAGed!

It was a silence heard aroung the world. At least the awards show proved effective in staging a tragedy. It was so bad that nobody even mentioned it in the press. The critics refused to draw their pens to write a review of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) effort. Instead, they slipped away quietly into the night following the worst presentation ever to fill a television screen. Somebody's got to report on it. Somebody not involved in Hollywood's liberal causes. That's us. And this is one time that MilesTones is serious.

The Screen Actor's Guild Awards Program that aired this last weekend, absolutely SAG-ed. Uneven, badly produced with actors who looked like a deer caught in the headlights as they accepted their 'awards' and who peppered their speechis with "um..uh...anduh....um..um..um."

Betty White received the lifetime achievment award and was funny, but she just had to add in some crude sexual inuendos that were not becoming. Drew Barrymore did a complete melt down, and for the first couple of minutes could not put a sentence together; On the verge of panic, she stammered uncomfortably and could only stutter, um...um, uh,um, um....uh. It was not an act .It was a true melt down. Other actors shown in the audience displayed an incredible attitude during the show.  read more »

Liberal tolerance on display in Massachusetts Senate race

Just how "tolerant" are liberal Democrats in Massachusetts?  Check out the video below and you'll get an idea.

This from people who say conservatives are intolerant.

Conservatives outnumber liberals in all 50 states according to new Gallup poll

Just in case you're tempted to get distracted by all that talk from the White House, Nancy Pelosi, etc. about how all those people showing up at townhall meetings really don't represent America, well it seems the numbers tell a different story:

Self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals in all 50 states of the union, according to the Gallup Poll.

At the same time, more Americans nationwide are saying this year that they are conservative than have made that claim in any of the last four years.

In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either "conservative" (31%) or "very conservative" (9%). That is the highest percentage in any year since 2004.

Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are "liberal" and 5% who say they are "very liberal."

Thirty-five percent of Americans say they are moderate.

And, of course, we know that most "moderates" tend to be conservatives who are worried about running afoul of political correctness if they admit it.  read more »

Bush in Review (part One)

The President is winding down a turbulent eight year ride, on the bus, in front of the bus, and ultimately under the bus. President Bush has been a convenient punching bag and the butt of a joke that never grows old. The dust will settle and all the present Hollywood wienies will hang up their soap boxes and return to the comfort of their multi-million dollar mansions in Malibu. Retiring in safe comfort, afforded by the blood of the patriots they so viciously criticized. Their fate will eventually reside on the back of a DVD box in the $5.00 grab bin at Wal-Mart. President Bush, however, might finally receive the credit he deserves.  read more »

Liberal Media

To say the media coverage of the Republican candidates is unfair, equates to calling the housing crisis a bit disturbing. I am not sure which is more appalling, the blatantly biased media, or the people who believe it. Modern journalism is the most dangerous medium on Earth, anybody who argues that, just might be a fool. Time and time again the media can be counted on to down play conservative achievements and kneel to the alter of liberalism. What if their new
empty suit, Barack Obama, was a conservative?

When Barack Obama referred to his grandmother as a “typical white person the gutless American media timidly raised it's head, then quickly inserted it back to the bottom of McCain's trash barrell shlepping for dirt. If Obama had been a conservative, journalist would march out of the wood work, interviewing everyone from his kindergarten classmates to his poor old grandmother.
