A conservative media watchdog says as the controversy surrounding ACORN continues to grow, the mainstream media is reluctantly beginning to cover the story.

This week another undercover video emerged that was produced by an independent filmmaker posing as a pimp along with a purported prostitute. It shows them receiving assistance from an employee of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) to obtain housing for an illegal sex business. It was the fourth video produced by James O'Keefe and his partner Hannah Giles, who posed as a prostitute named Eden.

Earlier videos of ACORN employees offering similar assistance to would-be prostitution operations created such a stir that the Senate voted 83-7 on Tuesday to approve an amendment yanking federal funding from the organization...

Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill are pleased the Senate has voted overwhelmingly to cut off federal funding to ACORN, in light of the ongoing investigations of voter registration fraud involving that organization.

The vote was 83-to-7 (see roll call) to pass an amendment to block the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now from receiving federal funds for housing programs. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who has been battling for accountability from the organization, says it is already under investigation in more than a dozen states for alleged voter fraud, the result of widespread allegations during the 2008 presidential campaign. He welcomes the Senate vote and hopes the House will follow suit...

WASHINGTON -- The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.

The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

The action came as the group is suffering from bad publicity after a duo of conservative activists posing as a prostitute and her pimp released hidden-camera videos in which ACORN employees in Baltimore gave advice on house-buying and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. Two other videos, aired on the FOX News Channel, depict similar situations in ACORN offices in Brooklyn and Washington, D.C....

Arrest warrants have been issued in Miami for 11 people suspected of falsifying information on hundreds of voter registration cards -- including registering the name of the late actor Paul Newman -- the Florida state attorney told FOXNews.com.

The FBI and state authorities took seven people into custody Wednesday as it issued 11 arrest warrants for voter registration fraud in Homestead, Fla., in June 2008.

Florida state attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle said 11 workers hired to register voters by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now -- or ACORN -- submitted 888 fraudulent names. She said the names included people who were already registered voters, fictitious names, and the name of the late actor Paul Newman, who died in Sept. 2008...

The Roman Catholic Church is cutting off funds to the community organizing group ACORN, citing complaints over its voter registration drives in the November 4 election as part of the reason.

specialists to investigate more than $1 million in church funding to

The investigation is "thorough, serious and ongoing," according to a July 11
letter to more than 200 bishops from New Orleans Bishop Robert Morin, chairman

Barack Obama's presidential campaign is pressuring the Department of Justice to put off a probe of voter registration fraud allegations leveled against the now infamous liberal group ACORN. Lawyers for the Obama campaign have written U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, asking him to delay any investigations of voter fraud until after the election.

The Obama campaign's general counsel, Robert Bauer, says the FBI should instead be investigating those who have lodged complaints of voter registration fraud against groups like ACORN. Bauer contends that concerns about voter registration fraud are "manufactured allegations" being used to intimidate and disenfranchise low-income voters...

A former member of the Federal Election Commission says the recent rash of voter registration fraud cases tied to the non-profit group ACORN warrants a Justice Department investigation and points to the need for state voter identification laws.

ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is being accused of submitting fraudulent voter registration forms across the country by registering people to vote multiple times under false names or even in the wrong jurisdictions. In Nevada, the group allegedly tried to collect phony registration forms for Dallas Cowboys players, and in Florida reportedly tried to register Mickey Mouse. A teenager in Cleveland, Ohio, says ACORN pestered him into signing 73 voter registration forms...
