Planned Parenthood seeks silence, fails

Abby Johnson, former director of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Bryan, Texas, resigned after seeing a sonogram of a baby as it was being aborted. Johnson converted from "pro-choice" to pro-life on the basis of her faith, and she began offering her testimony nationwide.

After quitting her job at Planned Parenthood, the organization filed suit against Johnson to block her from revealing any confidential information through copies of documents she allegedly made. Steven H. Aden of Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) took the case to court, where the ruling fell in Johnson's favor.

"Planned Parenthood got its temporary restraining order against Abby Johnson thrown out because the judge said they had no evidence that this former director of Planned Parenthood's College Station clinic had absconded with any confidential information regarding its employees or patients," the attorney reports...

'Personhood' movement goes north

A drive for a Personhood Amendment has been launched in Alaska.

The proposed amendment would call for recognition of all human beings from the biological beginning of their development. Chris Kurka, who is leading the campaign, talked with television station KTUU.

"The state's responsibility is to protect our rights -- and the most fundamental of those rights is the right to life," he explains. "So what we're doing...is asking the people of the state to sign this initiative to get it on the ballot, and then to vote for it so that the unborn will be recognized as a person -- just like the rest of us."

Planned Parenthood objects to the amendment, saying it could lead to scary things such as a woman who has a miscarriage being investigated on the chance that the mishap was really an abortion. Pro-life groups say the allegation is ludicrous....

Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a "change of heart" after watching an abortion last month — and she quit her job and joined a pro-life group in praying outside the facility.

Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas. But she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus in September.

'When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice," Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion"...

Planned Parenthood Teaches Sex Ed Classes in Cleveland Public Schools

(CNSNews.com) – A sex ed administrator with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District says that half of the “Responsible Sexual Behavior” classes for 9th and 10th grade students are taught by Planned Parenthood personnel.

"Planned Parenthood is one of our partners that teaches about 50 percent of our 9th and 10th graders,” Lita-Marie Townsen told CNSNews.com. She made the comment at an event on Capitol Hill last week where sex education activists pushed for federal funding of programs that do not focus solely on marriage and heterosexual couples.

The event, sponsored by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS), the National Education Association, and Healthy Teen Network, included Townsend as a panelist. Organizer said she could speak about the progress of comprehensive sex education programs in public schools “on the ground”...

Planned Parenthood Used Underage Girls in Clinical Trials Pushing Abortion

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new report from a Planned Parenthood watchdog group finds the abortion business used underage girls in at least 10 clinical trials over the last two decades to push abortion, birth control, and STD testing.

The news comes at a time when Planned Parenthood is facing criticism for videos showing it ignoring potential statutory abuse cases...

Planned Parenthood: Keep Abortion in Health Care, Force Taxpayer Funding

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest abortion business but, when it comes to the health care debate and public policy, it rarely talks about abortion. Leading officials normally focus on the less controversial women's health care but one staffer is unusually frank in a new blog post.

The pro-abortion group typically glosses over taxpayer-funding of abortions in its communications, even to its own members, on the health care debate.

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards publicly says health care shouldn't leave out women's concerns, but she almost never says abortion should be included...

Court rules in favor of 'endangering' minors

A New York federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the FDA, challenging the sale of the Plan B "morning-after" pill to 17-year-olds.

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) represented Concerned Women for America, the Christian Medical & Dental Associations, and Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International in the case. Steve Aden is an ADF attorney.

"The judge said that the plaintiffs didn't have the legal right to bring a lawsuit to challenge the over-the-counter switch for Plan B, even though they were comprised of doctors' groups, pharmacists, and parents whose interests were directly tied to the availability of Plan B over the counter," he explains.

The lawsuit was filed because Aden's clients believed that a female's life and health are worth more than Planned Parenthood's bottom line or the political agenda of pro-abortion groups...

Abortion clinic director sued for concealing rape, incest

The former director of education and training for Ohio Planned Parenthood clinics is now in Boise, Idaho, and is being monitored closely by pro-life groups.

Julia Piercey is named in a lawsuit where 16-year-old Denise Fairbanks became pregnant by her own father, told the Planned Parenthood staff, and received an abortion at their facility. Yet the crimes of incest and statutory rape were never reported to authorities. The father, who according to an Idaho Values Alliance (IVA) press release had abused his daughter since she was 13 years old, was eventually sent to prison, "no thanks to Planned Parenthood"...

Texans boot Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood has been shut down in the Texas panhandle.

American Life League's (ALL) Stop Planned Parenthood, or Stopp International, says it took a long time, but their campaign against Planned Parenthood finally got some results. "For 12 years in the Texas panhandle, there has been a fight against Planned Parenthood," he notes. "Planned Parenthood, in 1997, operated 19 clinics in the Texas panhandle"...

Indiana Planned Parenthood under investigation

A probe is under way of an Indiana Planned Parenthood after an undercover video revealed alleged criminal actions.

Lila Rose of Live Action Films filmed visits to two Indiana Planned Parenthood clinics. She posed as a 13-year-old impregnated by a 31-year-old man. While at the clinic, she was advised on how to get an abortion without getting the boyfriend in trouble. The Indiana attorney general's office and one grand jury are now investigating...
