Washington Weekly Review

March 23, 2012

Dear Friend,

Exactly two years ago, President Obama and liberals in Congress passed a massive government takeover of our nation's health care system - without our support!

We were told that the bill would save money, increase quality, let you keep your current insurance if you want to – and provide NO funds to cover abortion.

This has been untrue on every count.

(Click here and demand that it be repealed!)

While conservatives in Congress have made efforts to repeal the bill, they have been unsuccessful in getting passed by the Democrat controlled Senate.  And of course President Obama has vowed to veto any repeal of his pet program.

Now the Supreme Court will take up the issue this coming week to determine whether or not it considers Obamacare constitutional.

But as we move into this election season, we need to let the political class in Washington know that grassroots Americans think that Obamacare is un-constitutional – and that we want it REPEALED.

Just in recent weeks we have seen evidence that:

  • The official government cost estimates of Obamacare have DOUBLED!
  • Private insurance companies are selling fewer personal policies – and industry analysts predict they will be phased out
  • New federal regulations have mandated that religious institutions provide insurance that covers abortion inducing pills

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

We can continue to demand that Congress repeal it!

We can spread the truth about it to everyone we know.

And we can demand reform that focuses on empowering personal choice and freedom - not empowering government.

Click here and join our campaign to demand the repeal of Obamacare today!

And please help us spread the word by forwarding this message to others, or posting links to our campaign on Facebook.

Sincerely,

Roberta Combs, President & CEO

Tea Party Should Support the Ryan Budget

Since the new federal budget was introduced this week by the young conservative chairman of the House of Representatives Budget Committee, Congressman Paul D. Ryan, Republican from Wisconsin, there has been a lot of discussion in conservative circles  --  especially amongst Tea Party supporters  --  on whether or not the Ryan budget is conservative enough and balances the budget fast enough.

The fact that the Ryan budget would take between 25 and 30 years to balance the gargantuan federal budget gave this author  --  who, when a congressional chief of staff, saw this rising Republican star when he was a very young snot-nosed legislative aide to Congressman (now governor) Sam Brownback, R-KS, and who was highly impressed with Paul Ryan from the beginning   --  some pause... New Debt Chart Shows US Per-capita Debt Higher Than Greece

Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) has released a new chart that compares the relative per-capita national debt placed upon citizens of the most indebted nations of the world.

The surprise (to some)?  That US citizens ALREADY have the highest per-capital national debt load in the world.  Higher even that Greece, which, as anyone who has been watching the news for the past year would know, has been going through a horrific debt crisis as a result of not being able to borrow more more to repay the money it has already borrowed...because the people they want to borrow it from (prospective bond buyers, etc.), don't believe they will be able to pay the money back.

How long before bond investors start to believe that about the United States?... (READ MORE)

Help the Christian Coalition of California Protect Our Children from Indoctrination

Conservative Christians in the Golden State are asking for California residents to participate in a measure to help save our children from the indoctrination that has already been approved for kindergarten through 8th grade.

Laws such as SB 777 and SB 48 have paved the way for teachings that do not represent our moral and Biblical values.

We have an initiative for a parental "opt-out" for children in social sciences and family life to protect our 1st amendment rights as people of all faith against anything that goes against our moral values. Please download the petition by clicking here... (READ MORE)

Will You Take the "Pray and Vote" Pledge?

Next November, Americans will be going to the polls to cast ballots in the most important election of our lifetime.

And the outcome depends on what pro-family conservatives do between now and then.

We are looking for at least 200,000 fellow conservatives who will join with us and take the “Pray and Vote Pledge” to have an impact on the 2012 elections... (READ MORE)

Speaker Boehner Praises Vote Scrapping Health Care Rationing Board

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Thursday praised the House for passing the Protecting Access to Health Care (PATH) Act (H.R. 5), legislation that repeals ObamaCare’s health care rationing board:

“(Thursday’s) vote scraps the president’s unelected health care rationing board which would hurt seniors by restricting their treatment options and denying access to care. The bill also keeps our pledge to curb junk lawsuits and defensive medicine that drive up health care costs.  It marks the 26th vote we’ve taken to fully repeal, defund, or dismantle portions of ObamaCare, which is increasing costs and making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers...
