Many “pro-life” Democrats were fooled into voting for ObamaCare — which 60% of the American people still want to see repealed — after they heard Obama’s promises that abortion would not be funded with Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars. As many of us predicted, this turned out to be not the truth. The votes of these “pro-life” Democrats actually provided the votes for ObamaCare to be passed — expected to cost over a ten-year period some 2.6 trillion dollars.
Note this email from the Office of the Republican Leader in the United States House of Representatives, Congressman John Boehner, from Ohio, who many non-partisan analysts now expect to be the new Speaker of the House next January.

In the latest sign that President Obama has no intention of enforcing an Executive Order purporting to ban taxpayer funding of abortions, the Obama Administration approved a $160 million “high-risk pool” in Pennsylvania that will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.
The National Right to Life Committee noted that:
The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new ‘high-risk’ insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March – and has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of Governor Edward Rendell (D) under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania….
The section on abortion (see page 14) asserts that ‘elective abortions are not covered.’ However, that statement proves to be a red herring, because the operative language does not define ‘elective.’ Rather, the proposal specifies that the coverage ‘includes only abortions and contraceptives that satisfy the requirements of’ several specific statutes, the most pertinent of which is 18 Pa. C.S. § 3204, which says that an abortion is legal in Pennsylvania (consistent with Roe v. Wade) if a single physician believes that it is ‘necessary’ based on ‘all factors (physical, emotional, psychological, familial and the woman’s age) relevant to the well-being of the woman.’ Indeed, the cited statute provides only a single circumstance in which an abortion prior to 24 weeks is NOT permitted under the Pennsylvania statute: ‘No abortion which is sought solely because of the sex of the unborn child shall be deemed a necessary abortion.’
House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) commented yesterday: ”
This is the boldest admission yet from the Obama administration that the President’s Executive Order on taxpayer-funded abortion was a sham. The fact that the high-risk pool insurance program in Pennsylvania will use federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortions is unconscionable.”
And Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA), the chairman of the Values Action Team said:
Today, we see exactly why the Executive Order signed by President Obama will not prevent federal funding for elective abortion. I’m sad to see my own state of Pennsylvania cover abortion through the new high risk insurance pool. This clearly illustrates the need for strong legislative language to prevent federal funding for abortion coverage. Poll after poll shows that the American people don’t want the federal government to subsidize abortion. Gov. Rendell and President Obama can’t hide the fact that this new plan deeply offends the conscience of millions of Americans.
After ObamaCare passed – on the promise from the President that his Executive Order would guarantee no taxpayer dollars would fund abortions – no progress on implementing the Executive Order has been made. Leader Boehner even brought up the issue to the President during a meeting at the White House last month. The President was silent about it then, and his Administration continues to be mum about it to this day.
It’s almost as if the President never intended to prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions in the first place.
