Rep. Zeldin Statement on House Democrats Removing Iron Dome Funding from Government Funding Measure

WASHINGTON – Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus and a United States Army veteran, released the following statement this evening after House Democrats caved to progressives and removed funding for Israel’s Iron Dome from government funding legislation:

“The Iron Dome exists to defend civilians inside our nation’s great ally, Israel, against offensive air strikes. We saw the Iron Dome’s importance and effectiveness several months ago when the terror group, Hamas, fired thousands of rockets at Israel. It’s very telling that the ‘squad’ and their allies despise it so much. It’s even more telling that Speaker Pelosi and Democratic leadership are willing to put Israel’s safety at risk because they are unwilling to stand up to the most radical voices in their party.”

Congressman Zeldin also shared his reaction on Twitter.
