WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court granted a stay of U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan’s order terminating the Title 42 order issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, pending oral arguments on whether 19 Republican State attorneys general may intervene to challenge Judge Sullivan’s ruling:
“The Biden Administration has tried to have it both ways on Title 42 by arguing for it to expire while also noting the catastrophic effects its expiration will have on the crisis at our southern border,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I’m glad the Supreme Court has decided to rule on this case and help end the ambiguity left by this Administration’s extremely weak immigration policies and its unwillingness to defend policies that are necessary for preventing the crisis from getting even worse.”
