Rep. Zeldin Statement on Highest Inflation Spike Since January 1982

PATCHOGUE, NY – Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Financial Services Committee, just issued the following statement on the February consumer price index (CPI) report showing a 7.9% inflation spike, which is the highest since January 1982:

“Inflation continues to skyrocket to four-decade highs with consumer prices rising by 7.9% through February – the highest since January 1982. The cost of living is rising far faster than Americans’ paychecks, especially at the gas pump. The Biden Administration needs a course correction fast! It’s time to ditch the pie-in-the-sky far-left spending hikes, remove unnecessary taxes and regulations on businesses and families, ramp up domestic energy production, and much more.”
